After a short transit through the A-gate lounge, I arrive at the E-gate lounge after my transfer.
As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:
Location and welcome
After spending about 40 minutes in the First lounge at gates A, I take the Limousine Transfer path in the same lounge and am picked up by my driver. The latter leads methrough secret passages to the first floor, and, after passing a dedicated passport control, we enter the Mercedes van fitted out for the occasion.
I will be the only passenger this time.
The interior of the van isfurnished in Swiss tones, right down to the characteristic lamps of their First class. Impressive.
After less than 10 minutes of driving, we arrive in front of the elevator that will take us to the entrance of the First lounge where my escort will leave me.
I am greeted a little coldly by the dragon, but in a very courteous way. I ask about the availability of rooms, and all the rooms are available:the Montreux will be assigned to me.
Lounge design
The lounge has a variety of spaces, including completely private rooms.
Montreux Room
As previously mentioned, I was assigned the Montreux room for my stay at the lounge. The latter is about 20m2, and has a magnificent view of the runways and the Alps.
It is recommended to draw the curtains, which I will do in a second time to rest about 2 hours.
The bedding is signed Hastens and is perfect, ultra comfortable.
The bathroom is well equipped andthe shower has a very good pressure. A very pleasant and unusual place in an airport lounge.
First Class lounge
The lounge itself is at the opposite of the rooms. It has lounging areas, in which I will settle after the nap, a huge terracewhere I will chain glasses of champagne, and a restaurant area where I will dine.
All the areas have a private side, I don’t think the lounge is so full as to face another passenger for example.
Catering
The restaurant offer includes some snacks in the form of a buffet, but almost the entire offer is a la carte,in a huge menu from which it is rather difficult to choose.
A 5-courses tasting menu is even available with wine pairing suggestions.
As an appetizer, I will opt for asurf and turf carpaccio, made with beef and a very fresh scallop tartar.
For the main course, I would choose the veal à la zurichoise and its excellent cream and mushroom sauce with a good homemade rösti.
I will finish with some cheeses to close this meal and will skip the dessert, I preserve myself for the dinner on board.
I will close the meal with alocal digestif drunk on the terrace while writing this report… There are worse places!
Bottom line
I really didn’t see my 7 hours of connection passing, in such a luxury... Which makes the connections acceptable!
