W Singapore Sentosa Cove: What a beautiful suite and what a treat!

After a long journey to Singapore, I arrived in the city-state for a short stopover before my flight to Kuala Lumpur the next day.

Today’s itinerary

Booking

I booked this hotel about 2 weeks before my arrival. I had originally booked a IHG property near Changi Airport, the Crowne Plazabut due to the proximity of the airport to the city, I decided to change for this Marriott property that Bertrand and I know well for having stayed there 5 years ago during a visit to Singapore.

So here we go for a short night for a little more than 300 Singaporean dollars.

Arrival

48 hours before my arrival, I complete the check-in process in the Marriott Bonvoy app. And the day before my arrival, I noticed an upgrade to a Fabulous room with terrace, the highest category before the suites. A little disappointed, of course.

Nevertheless, after my flight from Zurich landed, I found a wonderful upgrade to a WOW Suite!

I arrive at the hotel after about 40 minutes drive from Changi airport. I am greeted outside by a valet who takes care of my luggage and accompanies me to the check-in counter, located one floor up and accessible by elevator.

It is the W Insider who welcomes me, as well asChristian, the hotel manager. We talk together and he tells me that we already know each other since he was General Manager of the Andaman, a property that Bertrand and I visited several timesand that we particularly liked, before its terrible fire.

He tells me about this “surprise” upgrade to the WOW Suite, and the W Insider accompanies me to the suite to complete the check-in process.

These will be simple, and I can finally enjoy my short stay in this beautiful hotel.

Room

The WOW suite (unique in the hotel) is located on the 7th and last floor of the property (room 702).

The entrance has its own toilet for visitors who are not staying in the suite.

The main room is huge.

The lounge area is very spacious. Opposite the entrance door is a large lounge with a special decoration, in any case necessarily in accordance with the W concept. A strange mannequin holds some balloons inflated for the occasion.

In a recess is located a large deskon which I will work for the evening.

In a corner there is a high table with stools and a very nice welcome service with a bottle of champagne, chocolates and a nice fruit tray.

Finally, in the last corner, a dining table is available, as well as a Nespresso machine and about twenty capsules.

The second room is the sleeping area, with a king size bed, a swing that reminds the room of the St. Regis Dubaiand finally the large bathroom with bathtub, spacious shower, double washbasin and Japanese toilet.

Finally, and this is undoubtedly the highlight of this suite, a huge crossing and corner balcony, which has its own private pool, which I will enjoy while drinking a good glass of champagne.

Finally, the virtual visit in video:

Hotel facilities

The hotel is located on the island of Sentosa and is considered a resort. In fact, it has a beautiful pool as coiled in the hotel, a fitness room and a spa.

IMG_5622

Given my very short stay, I would not have had the opportunity to visit the pool or the fitness room. Nevertheless, I was able to visit the spa.

AWAY Spa

Several days before my arrival, I spoke with the spa receptionist to find a time slot compatible with my stay. We found a convenient time and duration.

Finally, I arrive at the spa a few minutes before my treatment. The flight attendant welcomes me, makes me fill out the consultation form and change my flip-flops.

She shows me the relaxation area, withsauna, hammam and jacuzzi. I will not take advantage of it this day, but you will find the detailed report in our previous article.

The massage will be just perfect.

Catering

I wouldn’t have time to test the hotel’s dining areas. Nevertheless, I would have the chance to order a room servicedinner with a superb Nasi Goreng, an Indonesian specialty.

IMG_5637

For breakfast and in spite of my departure at 6 am, the room service will bring me a copious tray of cut fruitsof which I will make good use before my flight.

Departure

The check-out process was very simple: the hotel provides a pro-forma invoice during the night, and you just have to drop your key at the reception to receive it by e-mail.

Bottom line

An excellent stay, and abig thank you to all the W Singapore team.
