First step of my trip to Singapore with this first segment to Geneva-Cointrin and the waiting at the lounge of the parent company of the LH Group.
As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:
Check-in and ground experience
I proceed with the check-in formalities the day before departure, on the Swiss application.
Having uploaded my travel documents on the website a few days before, I was able to get my 3 boarding passes for Singapore without any problem.
It is thus approximately 3 hours before the departure that I take my Uber for the airport.
I arrive at London Heathrow Terminal 2 in less than 25 minutes and enter the terminal. The crowd is already very important while it is not even 6am.
Already knowing the place, I go to the priority counters of the LH Group.
There is a First Class counter, but the first one available is aBusiness classcounter and I am taken care of by the ground agent.
The interaction will be minimal, not very premium. I have to ask for the Firstpocket which was not given to me naturally, and it is given to me with a lot of reluctance because it is said to be reserved “to the senator”… First news!
I then go to the security controls, which unlike my previous experience the same week at Terminal 3, will be fluid, and I will be airside in less than ten minutes.
Location and welcome
The lounge is located on the A-gate level, to the right of the security checkpoints, right next to the Aer Lingus lounge.
I enter the lounge, the reception is rather ordinary and has nothing of First Class. The barcode to access the Senator area is given to me.
Lounge design
The design of the lounge is fairly consistent with the Lufthansa charter: shades of gray and camel, and light wood for the sideboards.
Various spaces are available: lounging, dining, resting or working.
I will sit in one of the lounging areas for the duration of my stay, then at a table to eat.
Catering
The catering offer is equivalent to that of the Senator lounges in Frankfurt or Munich, and has returned to pre-pandemic levels.
Soft and hard drinks are available at the opening of the lounge and are self-service.
A cold and hot breakfast selection was available when I visited.
I would take a few hot items that will be of acceptable quality without being exceptional.
Bottom line
A classic medium-haul lounge, but which deservesat least a little personalization in the service at least for passengers in First connection.
