Today’s itinerary

Boarding

When I arrive at gate E47, the boarding has not yet started, the document check is still going on for most of the passengers.

The boarding groups are well marked via ad hoc queues, and after about ten minutes of waiting, we are invited to board by the group 1 queue, reserved for First or HON Circle passengers.

Cabin and welcome

I am part of the first group to board the plane.

Swiss First Class Cabin

After checking my boarding pass, I am invited to turn left to access the First cabin, composed of two rows of four seats, i.e. 8 Full Privacy seats.

IMG_5506

The cabin is just beautiful, elegant, perfectly to my taste.

IMG_5507

The seat is very well designed, with a door that doubles as a closet, large storage for laptops, tablets and other cables.

IMG_5565

The dining table is simply huge and the ottoman allows you to dine face to face.

The accessories are already positioned on the seat: toilet bag and slippers. A XL pajama will be brought to me.

Pre-pushback service

After changing, a glass of Laurent Perrier Grand Siècle will be served to me, it will remain filled until the pushback by the First cabin purser. A snack will also be brought to me.

IMG_5511

We will push back with 25 minutes of delay and will have a long drive because of the storms which raged at the threshold of the runway.

IMG_5534

Service, catering and rest

After some heavy post-takeoff turbulence, the service begins.

The Main Cabin purser presents her greetings and gives me the 50 MB Wifi voucher (how generous!).

IMG_5535

Dinner service

The tablecloth is set on the huge table, and a glass of Laurent Perrier Grand Siècle is brought to me as an aperitif.

IMG_5530
IMG_5538

The rest of the set up is done with the big salt and pepper shakers, the cutlery and the bread plate.

IMG_5539

The bread basket, olive oil and butter are brought next.

The olive oil will be really excellent, very tasty.

The Balik salmon is brought to me. And I must admit that it is indeed a delight. The cream does not add much. I could eat a dozen plates !

IMG_5543

Then comes the plate of cold cuts, a little disappointing except the succulent meat of the Grisons.

IMG_5544

Obviously, bread, butter and jam are renewed.

The tomato-pumpkin soup was perfect, with the cumin to spice it up

IMG_5546

The salad, on the other hand, is not to my taste.

IMG_5547

The chicken will be overcooked, but the polenta will make up for it.

IMG_5548

I will finish the meal, totally full, with a beautiful plate of Swiss cheeses accompanied by the no less excellent warm and fresh bread.

IMG_5549

Night and rest

While I refresh myself by preparing my night, one of the stewards prepares my bed. When I return, the bed is perfectly prepared, and the requested mint tea served with elegance.

IMG_5550
IMG_5553
IMG_5554

After having drunk a cup, I will sleep 7 good hours without interruption, rocked by the strong turbulences undergone during the night.

IMG_5556

When I wake up, the flight attendant will bring me a double espresso with a squeezed orange juice, all with a hot oshibori on a rack.

IMG_5555

Breakfast service

About 1h45 before landing and at my request, the breakfast table is set up. This set-up is obviously perfect, just like the dinner.

For this service, there is no particular menu, you can really choose what you want. I’ll take some fruit, which will be perfect, ripe to perfection.

IMG_5561

The cold cuts and cheese plates were also good, the omelette less so for my taste. Fresh orange juice, water and coffee will be refilled without even asking.

IMG_5562

Arrival and disembarkation

Just before arrival, I will ask for a mint tea which will be brought to me promptly. And what a pleasure to watch the landscape with a hot tea!

IMG_5567
IMG_5570

We will arrive at the gate about 40 minutes late. In the jetway, no personalized welcome, only a sign with the name of the First passengers, but no accompaniment…I don’t really see the interest of such an approach.

Bottom line

An excellent flight, with a perfect service and an unequalled rest in the air.
