The Panorama lounge at Frankfurt airport offers a quality and original alternative to the usual Lufthansa lounges.
In spite of the delay of the flight which brought me from Paris I have a very comfortable connection time before leaving for Goteborg and thus the time to go to hang out at the lounge. But for once I will not go to one of the many Lufthansa lounges at the airport but to the Panorama lounge. It’s actually a former standalone lounge that Lufthansa took over operation of in 2018 and it retains its original design, which is a bit of a change from the airline’s other lounges that are all clones of each other.
As a reminder you will find the list of all the articles about this trip in Malaysia at the bottom of the page.
Location of the lounge
It is located in one of the branches of pier A of terminal 1, near gate A26, so close to my boarding gate for Goteborg. It is less in theory than the Lufthansa lounges in the terminal which are in the area where the two branches meet so are centrally located, but in my case it is a perfect location.
Lounge layout
The lounge is 1100 m2 and consists of several rooms each with its own design and atmosphere. It’s almost like being in an apartment with a view of the runways.
At the entrance the customer service counter.
The main hall with the buffet and the dining area.
Another room with its own buffet.
A corridor that leads to the other rooms.
Then the other rooms.
I love the variety of spaces that each have their own design and personality. And having many small separate spaces gives a sense of intimacy, you don’t feel like you’re in a huge lounge full of people. And I found the atmosphere more premium and cozy than the other lounges of the airline.
Even the toilets look quite premium…
Food options
The offer is rich and varied, just like the Lufthansa lounges on the platform.
A substantial offer of alcoholic beverages.
The usual soft.
For the cold dishes we find as usual cheese, cold cuts and salads.
Fruit and yogurt.
Sweets, a special feature of Lufthansa lounges.
And as for the hot offer we have (delicious) meatballs, scrambled eggs and sausages.
A varied and quality offer.
Facilities
The lounge offers toilets, 4 showers and a rest area.
Lounge atmosphere
Very muffled despite the high attendance.
Bottom line
A very pleasant lounge with its own personality that changes the monotony of the other Lufthansa lounges at Frankfurt airport. Maybe less well located because less central but given my departure gate it was perfect!
I will return.
