Munich-Paris in business class on Lufthansa: very good flight but Roissy is still terrible

A flight between Munich and Paris in Business Class on Lufthansa which will show once again the consistency in the service of the airline but, above all, that Roissy is still as inefficient.

This time it is the home stretch, the 12th and last flight of this stay: the return to Paris from Munich. As always after having passed the pleasure, even the excitement of long-haul flights, I am impatient to be done with the last medium-haul flights and to go back home since I am not discovering any new airline or product. Except for a problem or an exceptionally catastrophic experience nothing can happen to me so I hope nothing happens.

For the record the air routing of this trip.

You will find all the articles about this vacation in Malaysia at the bottom of the page.

Ground experience

I stay in the Senator Lounge of the T2 Annex in Munich until the theoretical boarding time before reaching my gate: it is right next door, no reason to rush.

I really like this airport, very pleasant for connecting. When I arrive, everyone is still seated and there is no rush.

The plane is there waiting for us. It is an A319.

Just then the staff announces the start of boarding.

Cabin and welcome

The boarding priorities are respected and I am in the first ones to enter the aircraft and find this cabin with this “good” old NEK seat that we don’t present anymore. I also find that the retrofit of Lufthansa medium haul aircraft with the new GEVEN Essenza that I already had the pleasure of discovering on Austrian really takes a long time….

The middle seat is of course blocked in business class.

And this is my seat for this flight, at the window.

IMG_3832

The pitch is very good.

IMG_3834

There will be 3 business class rows on this flight for 6 passengers. We won’t be cramped.

We are ready to take off.

The flight and the service

We push back and I say goodbye to Munich airport.

IMG_3835

We take off quickly and the service begins. The meal tray is served with the covers on the dishes, it’s not the best effect and they could have taken the time to remove them considering the number of passengers.

IMG_3836

It’s better this way…

IMG_3837

The vegetables are good, without more, the mousse correct and the meat very good. The dessert is fresh and light. Very correct in the end.

For once I won’t take out my iPad to watch a series but will sleep almost until the arrival in Paris. The pilot will take the time to announce the arrival time and will even make the effort to do it in French.

The staff

Very nice and efficient, just could have taken the time to remove the covers on the dishes.

Arrival and disembarkation

I disembark first and go to the baggage carousels to retrieve my suitcase through the tunnels and escalators that make the T1 at Roissy so recognizable.

IMG_3841

It’s a bit of a jam…

IMG_3840

When I arrived, it was announced that the delivery would take 10 minutes…knowing Roissy, I didn’t believe it for a second. Moreover, the display quickly changes to indicate “on hold”.

25 minutes later, still nothing.

The luggage will arrive after 45 minutes. Once again, congratulations to Roissy and Paris Airport for their legendary quality of service on this subject.

During this time I will receive a message telling me that the TGV that should take me three days later to my Christmas Eve party is cancelled. Thank you Farandou Boys!

Bottom line

Uneventful flight and good service as usual on Lufthansa, but 45 minutes to deliver luggage is unacceptable and too common at Roissy.
