United Club, Newark International Gates A: Good but Crowded

After a short flight from Washington, I headed to the United Club at Gates A before my flight to Boston.

Connection process

Arriving at Gates C from Washington, I took the shuttle bus to Gates A, avoiding a second TSA screening.

It took me less than 15 minutes to reach the lounge.

Location and welcome

The lounge is located on the mezzanine level of the terminal, accessible via stairs and an elevator.

Access control is managed through turnstiles that verify passenger eligibility, and I entered smoothly after scanning my boarding pass.

Lounge design

The lounge is brand new, designed similarly to its counterpart at Gates C that I visited on the outbound journey. However, it’s smaller and on an open mezzanine.

There are plenty of lounging and dining areas, but the space was quite crowded.

Catering

The catering selection was very comprehensive and, once again, identical to what was offered at the Gates C lounge.

Here, a full breakfast spread was available on this Saturday morning.

Bottom line

A pleasant wait, though the crowd can be an issue in this lounge.
