All Lufthansa lounges look the same, but the one in Munich’s Terminal 2 was very nice and offered a very rich catering.
When I landed in Munich I realized that I had not yet visited the lounge in the Terminal 2 annex. I don’t expect any surprises as the German airline’s lounges are so similar, especially in their Frankfurt and Munich hubs. But I just hope that the lounge will not be crowded and will be pleasant to experience.
You will find all the articles about this trip to Malaysia at the bottom of the page.
Location of the lounge
It is located in the Schengen area, in the middle of the terminal, in front of gate K11 and therefore approximately equidistant from all gates.
Eligibility
This lounge is open to Senator members of the company’s frequent flyer program and members holding Star Alliance gold equivalent status on an alliance member airline.
It is also accessible to passengers traveling in first class on Lufthansa or a member airline of the alliance, but they already have a dedicated lounge in the terminal.
The entrance is typical of Lufthansa lounges.
Lounge layout
It forms a large L with, inside, some private areas organized around a large shared space. In terms of furniture and colors there is no doubt: this is a Lufthansa lounge!
As you can see it is very bright and the tables are very spaced, much more than in other lounges of the airline I think.
There’s room in the dining area.
A large and airy lounging area.
There is a bar which, as I recall, is mainly for hot drinks.
There is a secluded area for TV fans…
Secluded recliners with a view of the tarmac.
There are also work spaces and a rest area (dark) that I did not photograph.
A Lufthansa lounge like many others, but I especially appreciated its brightness and the space between the seats. The fact that there were few people there also contributed to this feeling of comfort.
Catering
The buffet is as usual at Lufthansa very consistent.
Sweet and savory cakes, candies and pretzels.
Breads…
Salads.
For the hot dishes we start with the soups…
As far as hot dishes are concerned, it’s very German: goulash, cabbage, potatoes etc. and the sauces that go with it.
Here is the menu of the day:
And in pictures…
When it comes to sweetness, there are cakes and verrines…
A little tour of the drinks side now…
Water and soft drinks fountains…
The beer taps, usual at Lufthansa.
Tonics and beer bottles in the cooler…
A nice choice of wines.
And to finish, a nice selection of strong spirits.
I wasn’t too hungry and that’s a shame because there was room for a feast. Once again, Lufthansa does not disappoint with its lounge catering.
Facilities
The lounge has toilet and shower facilities.
Atmosphere
Very quiet during my stay.
Bottom line
An unsurprising lounge as Lufthansa lounges are so similar to each other but I found it more pleasant than many others, especially those in Frankfurt.
