Review : Lufthansa Business Lounge post-COVID, Munich Gates G

After an excellent stay with friends in Munich and a stay at the excellent ALoft (not reviewed this time), I unfortunately have to leave the Bavarian capital quite early to go to Paris.

Today’s itinerary
Good comfort in the train to the airport

In Munich, the airport is far from the city… Very far!

Arrival at Munich airport by S-Bahn
The architecture of the station is quite nice
A beautiful sunny day for this return to Paris
Access to Terminal 2 from the S-Bahn station

After 45 good minutes of S-Bahn, I proceed to the security formalities, passed in the blink of an eye (without priority passage).

Access to priority services from the station entrance
The table of departures is nevertheless well filled

Location

The only open lounge on the platform is the Business Lounge at gates G. It is actually better than the Senator Lounge at the same location. I am greeted and told that I should go out through another exit.

The lounges are well marked out. The First lounge badge has been temporarily removed
The entrance of the lounge, in the distance

Arriving on the mezzanine that houses the lounge, I take a wide angle photo of the whole.

Surprise, a Lufthansa employee approaches me and asks me to delete the picture, because there are people on it. I show him that it is taken from far away but he does not want to hear anything. I’m deleting it temporarily.

Lounge design

Unlike the Senator lounge below, which is blind and dark, the Business lounge is 3 times larger and has a view, albeit of the outside of the airport. It is also very bright.

Lufthansa’s usual camel and grey tones in the lounge
The chairs facing each other are blocked

Catering

As in Frankfurt, the offer is also reduced to almost nothing, with the same packaged pretzels and industrial snacks. We have Kit Kats here though. Fruit salads are also present.

The message is clear
Bottled water, the only fresh drink offered here
The great innovation, the Kit Kats

The restaurant offer is absolutely scandalous, just like in Frankfurt.

The same pretzels in a bag
Fruit salads, the only thing you can really eat in this lounge

Here, moreover, we can’t even serve ourselves coffee, an attendant does it… To maintain employment?

By the way, I winked at my friend at the entrance, asking him if I could keep the pictures of this unacceptable offer… He didn’t appreciate it, but it made me laugh!

Bottom line

A shitty experience, like in Frankfurt.
