It’s already time to head back to Europe after an excellent vacation in Asia. Our return to Europe was just as complicated as the outward journey. We had two connections this time, first a 787-10 on Singapore Airlines to Singapore Changi, then Lufthansa’s A350-900 to Munich, then a traditional A320 to Paris.
So here we are on the second segment of this route, and as a reminder, here’s the complete itinerary:

Boarding
We arrive from Denpasar at Changi terminal 4. By the end of February, all passengers were wearing masks on their own initiative. We only have an hour before our flight to Munich, which is fine without being super comfortable. We head for the shuttle bus that takes us to the departure terminal.
Security is handled at the gates in most of Changi’s terminals. This was the case for us today, but the presence of a priority lane enabled us to pass in the blink of an eye.
With fifteen minutes to go before boarding, we find two adjacent seats near the gate to wait.
Boarding begins with Business passengers, and we’ll be moving in swiftly.
Cabin and welcome
The welcome is quite warm and we make our way to our seats.
This Lufthansa Business Class is a disappointment, as usual! How can one order and put on line a new aircraft in a legacy airline and propose such a lousy seat, especially when one claims to be SkyTrax 5 stars! I’ll never get used to this Business cabin…
A welcome drink is served before takeoff, and the menu for the festivities is handed out.
Service and catering
The service starts a few minutes after take-off.
An aperitif is served with the trolley.
On Lufthansa, the table is now set, just like in First.
I’d go for the roasted prawns with sage butter as a starter, which were excellent, and I continued to accompany it with champagne.
The side salad was very fresh.
For the main course, I choose the Biryiani, a Middle Eastern dish that I’m particularly fond of, and which I almost always order on Emirates. A little disappointed this time, it lacked taste.
The cheese (served with crackers) and dessert (a cheesecake) were perfect.
And I fall asleep for a good 8 hours!
For the second service (breakfast), I chose the noodles, which were excellent and full of flavor. And the tray is back, as usual at Lufthansa.
My wife chose the omelette, which was excellent.
Arrival and disembarkation
The cabin is being prepared for our early arrival in Munich… And… I found Charlie!
We disembark in the sleepy terminal and make our way to the lounge, which will be empty that day.
Bottom line
A very good flight from a soft product point of view, but Lufthansa’s Business hard product is really unsatisfactory.
