As part of a weekend with friends planned before the COVID, I had booked a round trip on the new Orly-Munich route in Business for 249€.
But the pandemic helping, and many rebookings later, here I am on a round trip with much worse schedules, but especially with a long connection in Frankfurt on the outbound as well as on the return.

A look back at this unprecedented experience.
Check-in
I arrive at the airport very early, taking less than 35 minutes from the Eiffel Tower, a record in rush hour!
Due to the health crisis and the associated drop in traffic, the Lufthansa Group is now operating from Terminal 2A/C instead of Terminals 1 (Lufthansa, Swiss) and 2D (Austrian).
The queue is quite long for economy class, and deserted for Business and Elite passengers.
I wait for my buddy and we get our boarding passes.
Once this formality is done, we go to the security checks. For all non-domestic flights, the Border Police will perform an identity check before the security check. Both formalities will be completed in less than 5 minutes despite the absence of a priority queue.
Boarding
All the lounges are closed in the 2A/C boarding area, so we have to wait in the public area for more than 1h30.
When the time of boarding approaches, we go to the gate. There are two materialized lanes, but it is difficult to identify the priority lane, until the meaning of the lanes is displayed on the boarding screen.
No less than 6 boarding agents are busy at the gate… For not much!
The boarding starts slowly, and obviously, the boarding pass scanner doesn’t work and the agent has to take the sequence numbers one by one…
Cabin and reception
The welcome is warm, and a disinfectant wipe as well as a governmental communiqué are transmitted to us.
I then head to my seat 1A and settle in for this short flight.
Service and catering
As expected, the change in medium-haul business class service on Lufthansa is minimal. The beverage service is done normally, and the food is of excellent quality.
Special mention for the exceptional burrata.
Coffee and sparkling water refills will be offered during this short flight.
Arrival and disembarkation
We arrive at the gate A1 in Frankfurt.
The debarkation is organized in sections of ranks and it seems to work well.
Bottom line
An excellent flight, but we look forward to the return of priority services and lounges at CDG!
