We arrive at the airport about 3h30 before the departure of our flight. We go to zone B, which features the Finnair check-in counters.
As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed today:
Check-In and ground experience
We go to the counters, deserted at the time of our passing, located at the bottom of the zone B.
Priority check-in lines are marked with a banner and we are taken care of immediately. Note that we booked a Business Light fare, and that priority check-in is not normally available. But since I have Oneworld Emerald status and my wife has Oneworld Sapphire status, we can use this line regardless of the fare paid.
The check-in will be easy, fast, and very courteous. Our luggage is checked-in to our final destination, also thanks to our status, as the Business Light fare does not include checked luggage. We are told that we can use the Fast Track, as well as the Cathay Pacific lounge, also thanks to our status.
I was afraid of an interminable wait at the security checks, they will be deserted! This includes non-priority security checks.
Theoretically, only I can access the Fast Track, according to the Oneworld rules, which only systematize it at Emerald status. Nevertheless, having been guided by the check-in agent on the Fast Track, we go there with a determined walk. No problem to access the priority line, we will discuss with the control agent with a big smile. Absolutely 0 waiting, we can pass directly, the agents in charge of security were waiting for us.
Location
The lounge is located in Zone C, just behind the large duty-free area in Terminal 3.
The two lounges of the Hong Kong airline are accessible by elevator.
The receptionist welcomes us and directs us to the First Class section of the lounge.
Lounge design
I have already stayed in this lounge, you can find this report written previously.
The decoration of the lounge is rather successful, sober, but I like the black leather and light wood.
Its size is quite limited, and unfortunately, American Airlines passengers have found the entrance to the lounge since my last report, which makes the space not very pleasant when the american airline boards.
We will nevertheless find some space and then change to quieter seats afterwards.
A dining room is also available for hot food orders prepared to order.
Catering
Despite the small size of the lounge, the restaurant offer is quite comprehensive.
A well-stocked buffet of wines, champagnes, alcohols and spirits is available for self-service. Soft drinks and beers are also available to all lounge guests. A sign indicates that cocktails can be ordered at the bar, located in the Business section of the lounge.
In terms of catering, a small cold buffet is available near the entrance, with, at the time of our visit, both sweet and savory afternoon tea items, as well as fresh fruit and some pastries.
In addition to these self-service items, the dining room offers an extensive menu with appetizers, entrees and desserts. Asian specialties are of course available.
We will take the opportunity to order an excellent biryani and nibble on some pastries and fruits at the buffet before leaving to board our flight to Helsinki.
Bottom line
A very pleasant stay at the Cathay Pacific lounge, unfortunately a little spoiled by the important affluence at the beginning of our visit.
