Bangkok Airways Blue Ribbon Lounge, Koh Samui : Very decent

After this excellent stay at Vana Belle, it is now time to go to Bangkok.

As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:

Today’s itinerary

Check-In and ground experience

As for the outbound flight, I proceeded to the check-in procedure online, but this time, no way to change our seats: they will be 17E and F. The online check-in procedure confirms me the excess luggage I bought beforehand, so our allowance is 60kg for two.

Also, we proceed to drop off the luggage, which will take time without really knowing why (it will be extremely quick for us).

Location

The Blue Ribbon lounge is located next to door 2 on the domestic departures level.

Theoretically, it is reserved for the most loyal members of the Bangkok Airways program, but accepts PriorityPass cards which we will use to enter this time.

Bangkok Airways has two types of lounges at its stations: the Boutiques, accessible to all passengers regardless of their status, and the Blue Ribbon, the equivalent of their international Business Class, for loyal customers, as Bangkok Airways does not offer business class on its domestic flights.

The welcome was very cordial and after checking our boarding passes and PriorityPass, we were allowed to enter the lounge, the only air-conditioned one on the platform, which is completely open air.

Lounge design

The design of the lounge is quite basic but in the colors of the Thai airline.

The relaxation areas are comfortable. There is no space dedicated to catering.

Catering

The catering offer is much better than in the airline’s basic lounges. In addition to sweet options in blister packs, hot and savory options are offered with 3 choices of hot dishes and a selection of dim sum.

Soft drinks are also available, as well as white or red wine and beer.

A real coffee machine is also available.

It’s really not too bad for a home lounge, and more importantly, it allows you to wait in the cool.

Bottom line

A very good stay in this lounge that we leave at the theoretical time of boarding.
