British Airways Concorde Room, London Heathrow : Good experience

For this long weekend in New York, our journey begins in the Concorde Room at London Heathrow, an exclusive space reserved for First Class passengers, unlike the Galleries First lounge open to Oneworld Emerald passengers.

As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:

Today’s itinerary

Ground course and check-in

We start our trip 3h30 before the departure of our flight by leaving our home in Uber. I now use the Uber Reserve option which allows me to have the guarantee of a car.

After a short drive, we arrived at Heathrow terminal 5, which was quite full at the beginning of the morning.

Since we fly First class, we have access to The First Wing, the check-in area for Oneworld Emerald and First Class BA passengers.

Quickly, we are taken care of by a charming check-in agent who will check our VeriFLY passes (the solution used by BA for pre-checking COVID documents) and then our luggage is tagged and checked for NYC.

We are invited to use the Concorde Room, a lounge for the exclusive use of British Airways First Class passengers.

We then proceed to the security area reserved for The First Wing passengers, then arrive directly in the Galleries First lounge.

Location

The lounge is located in the Galleries South lounge complex on the second floor across from the Galleries First lounge. In addition to access via The First Wing, a discreet entrance is located just past Fast Track South on the right.

Lounge design

The design of the lounge is equivalent to that of the other British Airways lounges on the platform, in a more cosy and elegant version.

A staffed bar is available to guests, as well as a real restaurant with very discreet tables.

A beautiful sunny terrace is available and it is here that we will settle.

Sanitary facilities equivalent to those in the other lounges are available.

Display cases with numerous Concorde service items are arranged throughout the lounge.

Catering offer

The restaurant offer is very comprehensive. It is available in the lounge areas as well as in the restaurant.

For breakfast, we will use the restaurant. We are quickly placed by one of the servers.

The design of the space allows for great discretion with small private booths.

We will choose some breakfast items and of course the excellent Laurent Perrier Grand Siècle.

Bottom line

A very good time in this lounge, even if it is not the best First Class lounge in the world.
