The St. Regis, Mexico City : Perfect in every way

For this stay in the Mexican capital, we stayed at the St. Regis Mexico Citylocated in the heart of the capital.

Note that this time, some services were offered by the hotel because of my condition as a blogger, and I will mention it when it is the case.

Today’s itinerary

Booking

I booked this hotel about 2 months before our arrival, at the same time as I booked the plane tickets.

My Corporate rate being excellent, I choose to use it for this stay, which will cost un little bit less $240 a night including all taxes.

In addition, I use 4 Suite Night Awards to confirm a beautiful suite. These SNAs will be confirmed as soon as the window opens, at D-5.

Before our arrival, I arrange with the concierge a pick-up at the airport, as well as some restaurant reservations in town, including Quintonil, one of the best restaurants in the world.

Arrival

We arrive in the early afternoon at Mexico City airport and after collecting our luggage, we head for the exit.

Our host is waiting for us with a St Regis Mexico City sign and leads us to the reserved car.

After a good 45 minutes of driving because of the traffic, we arrive at the hotel.

IMG_1282

Immediately, the staff takes charge of us, takes care of our luggage and leads us to the reception.

IMG_1400

Even if a small lobby is available on the first floor, it is on the 3rd floorthat the latter is located for the hotel’s guests.

We proceed immediately to the registration formalities: identity check, credit card imprint.

IMG_0886

I will choose breakfast as my Platinum benefit.

IMG_0885

We will be asked to wait a few minutes while the housekeeper inspects our room, then the receptionist will come and bring us our keys to our suite, 519.

Room

Our Luxury Suite was located on the 5th floor of the property. It may look low, but you’ll see that it won’t be a problem for the view.

The suite is of good size.

The entrance leads to a lobby with a large closet for storing suitcases and a toilet for visitors.

Then comes the huge lounge area, with a wet bar, a beautiful corner sofa with a coffee table and armchair and a large TV.

A dining area is also installed with a huge table, and a small desk just behind it.

Finally, the bedroom and its king size bed, ultra comfortable, coffee tables and two armchairs. Two large closets will allow us to unpack our things in comfort.

Finally, the huge bathroom, with its two opposing basins, its bathtub, its shower-hammam and its toilet.

Contrary to the usual practice at St. Regis, it is not Remède toiletries but another brand, just as nice.

When we arrive, our butler will introduce himself with two glasses of champagne to welcome us. A nice touch.

A welcome service with some words of welcome were also installed for our attention.

Finally, here is the video tour:

Hotel facilities

The hotel has many facilities that we used.

Most of these facilities are located on the 15th floorof the property.

Fitness room

The fitness room is located to the right of the elevators. A juice bar welcomes you before the fitness room itself. The latter is very well equipped, and faces a magnificent view of thePaseo de la Reforma and the rest of Mexico City. We will not use it during our stay.

Pool

The pool is located in the extension of the fitness room. Two changing rooms surround it, equipped with saunas and non-mixed steam rooms.

The pool itself is very pleasant, and also enjoys a beautiful view of the city. Two Jacuzzis surround it.

The spa is also located on the 15th floor of the property. The welcome is perfect and you will be asked to fill out information sheets on your health status and preferences.

The massage itself was just fabulous. Totally complete, and very professional. We were able to be massaged at the same time.

Diana – Breakfast service

Diana is the main restaurant of the hotel, with a mainly Mexican menu revisited.

Breakfast is served here every morning. Unlike many hotels,it is not a buffet but a menu from which you can order whatever you want. We will vary the pleasures every morning, and it was always excellent and the service absolutely perfect.

J&G Grill – Tequila tasting

We had the bartender all to ourselves in this tequila tasting, from the youngest to the oldest. We had the bartender all to ourselves in this tequila tasting, from the youngest to the oldest. I really appreciated all the details shared, it was just fabulous.

J&G Grill – Dinner

For our first evening, we dined at the J&G Grill, exceptionally open because the Diana restaurant and the King Cole Bar were privatized. But the menu was the same as at Diana.

The service was excellent, and the food perfect, we were delighted!

IMG_0948
IMG_0947

The restaurant offered us dessert for our wedding anniversary, and the waiters even came to bring it to our room because we were no longer hungry.

Departure

I had asked if it was possible to keep our room until 8pm on the day of our departure, as our flight was initially scheduled at 9:50pm. Request accepted, but with a change of room, all the suites being full…But at the time of the change of room, good surprise, no more need! We will be able to stay in our suite until 8pm without moving our stuff, perfect!

The departure formalities were simple and the invoice will be sent to us by e-mail during our transfer to the airport.

Bottom line

An excellent stay, we will come back!
