For this seventh day in Mexico, and the day after our arrival in the capital, we decided to explore the surroundings of the hotel.
As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:
Chapultepec Castle and Park
Chapultepec Park is located at a ten minutes walking distance from the St. Regis. The path is very pleasant on the Paseo de la Reforma, one of the widest avenues of the city hemmed with oak trees.
Once in the park, just go straight to find the castle’s ticket office, which serves as a museum of the country’s history.
Interesting in itself, but the building and its gardens are much more interesting. And the view of the city and the rest of the park is magnificent.
We will reach the Quintonil restaurant by foot in about 30 minutes.
Frida Kahlo Museum
After an experiential lunch, we will go to the Frida Kahlo Museum by Uber.
Please note that since the beginning of the pandemic, the museum no longer accepts visitors without a reservation, so it is essential to buy your ticket online before coming, and the slots sell out very quickly, especially the morning slots.
Please note that if you wish to take pictures, a 30 pesos permit must be purchasedon site and in cash. Petty.
The museum itself is quite small,it is the house where Frida Kahlo lived and decorated as it was then, with some iconic works in addition.
The gardens are quite nice too. Worth the visit.
Bottom line
A full day, and a beautiful city.
