Recently renamed, the lounge at Gothenburg Airport offers more than adequate facilities when you don’t have hours to spend there.
My short stay in Gothenburg has come to an end and I am returning to Paris, where I will catch my flight to Singapore, flying Gothenburg-Paris-Singapore. This gives me the opportunity to spend a little time in The Lounge while I wait for my flight.
A very brief review, as the lounge has already been presented many times in the past.
You will find a summary of the articles on these holidays in Singapore and Bali at the bottom of the page.
Lounge location
It is located opposite the duty free exit when you look towards the tarmac, right next to the SAS lounge.
Perfectly located in the middle of the terminal, close to almost all gates.
Eligibility
When I was there, it was welcoming passengers whose status or travel class entitled them to lounge access from their airline, i.e. all non-Star Alliance airlines in this case, including Air France and KLM.
It is also accessible to holders of numerous cards, including Priority Pass and Amex Platinum.
Since SAS changed alliances, I imagine it mainly welcomes Star Alliance passengers, given that Skyteam has joined the SAS lounge.
Layout and design
It consists of a large, bright room with a view of the tarmac and runways. The style is very Scandinavian with wood everywhere, and it is divided into several areas with different layouts.
Catering
The food selection is fairly simple.
Jam, even if it’s early afternoon…
Charcuterie…
Salads…
Unlike my previous visit, the hot dishes, which were a new addition, had disappeared, but (spoiler alert) they would be back when I returned two weeks later.
For drinks, there is the traditional hot drinks machine.
And fountains for soft drinks, beer and… wine.
Basic, but that’s often the case in Scandinavia, and it’s no worse than the neighbouring SAS lounge.
In any case, since I have two flights ahead of me, including a long-haul flight, and I will be spending time in the Air France La Première lounge at Roissy, I won’t eat anything so that I have room in my stomach.
Facilities
No toilets or showers, but there are public toilets just outside. Could be better…
Atmosphere
Quite calm when I visited.
Bottom line
A pleasant enough lounge for a quick stopover; we’ve seen much worse contract lounges.
