Although terminal 2G is not the most pleasant at Roissy, the Air France lounge there is not at all unpleasant for a short wait, knowing that the flights operated from this terminal are rarely very long.
It’s time for me to fly off on what should be a very promising holiday in Asia, but before that I’m making a stopover in Sweden, hence a flight to Gothenburg from Paris and this break in the 2G lounge.
You will find a summary of the articles on these holidays in Singapore and Bali at the bottom of the page.
A fairly quick article about this particular experience, given that I have already presented this lounge on several occasions.
Lounge location
Once you have passed through the security checks and go upstairs to the waiting area and boarding gates, the lounge is behind you once you reach the top of the escalators or at the far left of the waiting area if you are facing the bay window overlooking the tarmac.
Eligibility
It welcomes Air France business class passengers, Gold and Platinum Flying Blue members regardless of travel class, as well as Skyteam Elite+ status holders, again regardless of travel class.
Layout and design
The lounge consists of a large, bright room with different areas for various purposes: eating, lounging, etc.
It’s quite nice, bright and very pleasant, especially as the lounge wasn’t too full, unlike in my past experiences.
Catering
The buffet is quite well stocked for a ‘small’ lounge.
There is cheese, charcuterie, mini sandwiches, savoury tarts and cakes.
There are also a few hot dishes, a little disappointing in terms of refinement but not bad.
And of course salads…
As for drinks, there is of course the traditional hot drinks machine.
Alcohol.
Soft drinks in a refrigerated cabinet.
And fruit juices kept well chilled.
All in all, a varied and fairly high-quality offering, given the terminal and its very modest ambitions.
Facilities
The lounge has nice toilets and showers.
Atmosphere
For once the lounge wasn’t very full, which made it very pleasant.
Bottom line
When you consider the historical reputation of the 2G terminal, its rationale and its ambition, this lounge is a pleasant surprise.
