After spending a good two hours in the lounge, it was time to board my final flight of this itinerary back to Boston.
Boarding
I left the lounge about 15 minutes before boarding was due to start, which was a good idea as the gate is about a ten-minute walk from the lounge entrance. So I arrived five minutes before the theoretical boarding time. Boarding started on time, even a little ahead of schedule with the pre-boarding of disabled persons and active military personnel.
Next comesboarding for zone 1, of which I am a member, being seated in Domestic First. A perfect boarding experience.
Cabin and welcome
Without waiting, I enter the Domestic First cabin of this Airbus A220-100. Destination Boston.
On these aircrafts, Delta has installed a cabin in First in a 2-2 configuration, over 3 rows, with modetately comfortable recliners , as they are quite narrow.
As on the outbound flight, an entertainment screen is available on the back of the front seat. The aircraft is also equipped with wi-fi, which will operate throughout the flight.
During boarding, the flight attendant responsible for First Class took drink orders for the welcome service, and I opted for sparkling water.
Service and catering
The service on this short flight was understandably limited.
Just after the locker light goes out, the hostess will come and take my order and I’ll have a Bailey’s on the rocks. The basket of snacks will also be brought in and I’ll have a few, then the hostess will ask me if I’d like a refill of Bailey’s, which I’ll accept.
A very good service overall.
Arrival and disembarkation
We arrived in Boston about 20 minutes ahead of schedule, despite a rather lengthy taxi at JFK.
Bottom line
Excellent service, concluding a very good experience with Delta on this itinerary. Makes you want to try them again on a domestic itinerary.
