American Airlines Admirals Club, Boston Logan: still strong

We were off on our UK itinerary. Our first stop is the American Airlines lounge at Boston Logan, which you’ve already seen in several TravelGuys reports.

Booking

We booked this itinerary on the American Express Travel website and paid for around 85% of the ticket with Membership Rewards points accumulated over several years.

Booking was straightforward, and electronic tickets were issued almost immediately. On the other hand, prices varied widely between flights, despite the fact that there are nearly 15 BA flights a day between JFK and LHR. Loads were very high.

Check-In and ground experience

We left home just under 2 hours before our flight to New York JFK was due to depart. After a ten-minute Uber ride, we arrived at the Terminal B drop-off area and walked to the American check-in counters.

The agent barely said hello, but carried out the check-in formalities from end to end all the way to London Heathrow without difficulty, and checked in our two bags all the way to London.

The security checkpoint was cleared in just a few minutes, with no wait.

Location and welcome

We were soon on our way to the lounge near gate B4.

We were greeted by name during our initial interaction.

Lounge design

The lounge’s design hadn’t changed since last time. It’s decorated in recent Admirals Club tones, namely a mix of red, beige and grey.

It was all very clean.

Various areas are available for working, relaxing or dining.

We settled into comfortable armchairs for the hour we spent working.

Catering

The catering offer had not changed either. In addition to the usual snacks, there was a short hot offer of meatballs and grilled squash, as well as the essentials for creating a mixed salad.

A full bar was available, with a selection of free alcoholic beverages and some for sale.

Bottom line

A pleasant stay as usual.
