Oman Air lounge in Bangkok: very nice and very good catering

8 hours of connection in Bangkok is the opportunity to do some lounge hopping. Coming out of Thai’s Royal Silk Lounge I only have to walk a few steps to reach the Oman Air lounge to which I have access even though I travel on Star Alliance thanks to my Priority Pass membership.

You will find at the bottom of the page all the articles related to this trip in Australia.

Location of the lounge

It is located in Pier E, almost opposite the Thai Airways Royal Silk Lounge.

Who has access to the lounge

The Oman Air lounge is open to the airline’s passengers travelling in First Class, Business Class, Sindbad Gold or Silver cardholders and Priority Pass holders.

It is also accessible by paying access.

Moreover, at that time it was not yet accessible to passengers of OneWorld airlines because if Oman Air joins OneWorld it will only be effective in 2024.

Lounge layout

The lounge consists of two rooms.

The first one, through which you enter, is composed of sofas, chairs and tables. It is decorated in an oriental style with blue lighting to great effect.

This is also where the buffet is located, but more on that later.

The second room is in a similar style but less densely furnished and lighter.

My only criticism is that it lacks a large number of easily accessible electrical outlets.

In any case a very nice lounge, very comfortable and relaxing.

The only downside may be that the lounge is currently well sized to accommodate Oman Air customers and Priority Pass members, but it may reach its limits when OneWorld customers are added. But that’s in 2024.

Catering

The food and beverage offer in the Oman Air lounge is comprehensive and quite sophisticated. It is presented in individual portions and the buffet is constantly replenished.

Chicken and rice :

Vegetables and pasta :

Chicken skewers and lamb wrap.

Fruit, cakes, bread and pastries.

Strangely there are no salads and the cold offer is reduced to its minimum.

In terms of drinks, there are the traditional softs.

IMG_1593

And a fairly large range of alcoholic beverages.

IMG_1592

Note the presence of self-service champagne, not so common.

All in all, a fairly varied, sophisticated and qualitative offer.

Facilities

The lounge offers showers.

Atmosphere

Discreet jazzy background music, hushed atmosphere.

Bottom line

A very pleasant lounge that really contrasts with its front neighbour. Moreover, it is open 24 hours a day.
