Singapore Airlines Silverkris lounge in Bangkok: very pleasant, basic catering

The time of my departure is approaching and I still have time to test one last lounge at the Bangkok airport: the Singapore Airlines Silverkris lounge. And I am not unhappy to finish: 3 lounges in Sydney in the morning, 6 in Bangkok to occupy 8 hours of connection, I can’t take it anymore. Not only am I starting to get tired, but even though I’ve been careful, my stomach is in agony.

Anyway, let’s see what it looks like.

You will find the list of all the articles related to this trip in Australia at the bottom of the page.

Location of the lounge

The lounge is located in the pier D a little after the Turkish Airlines lounge (when you arrive from the E….). Off-centered or not…it all depends on your departure door!

Access to the lounge

The lounge is available to Singapore Airlines and Star Alliance passengers flying in Business or First Class, as well as Solitaire PPS Club, PPS Club, KrisFlyer Elite Gold members of the KrisFlyer Frequent Flyer Programme or Star Alliance Gold status holders regardless of their class of travel.

Lounge layout

The lounge is composed of a large room in one piece but has different zones furnished in different ways for specific uses that break the impression of size and give instead the feeling that we are in smaller and pleasant spaces.

First, a lounging area with armchairs and pods inspired by the airline’s business/first cabins.

That’s where I’ll settle down as usual.

An area with sofas.

A large table for those who do not want to eat alone.

And an area to dine alone or with others.

IMG_1683

It is sober and nicely decorated.

A very nice bar separates the lounge itself from the buffet.

Catering

I stopped by a little less than an hour before the lounge closed so the catering was not in the best shape (yes this lounge closes before midnight (at least when I passed, I think it has changed since then) unlike for example the Oman Air open 24/24 or Eva which closes around 2am I think … I should have visited them in a different order ….)

Cold dishes look bad.

The hot offer is quite varied: rice, spaghetti bolognese, cabbage with mushrooms, rice, boiled chicken, noodles.

Varied but not very fancy, too bad. I will not comment on the condition of the buffet itself as it was close to closing, it does not reflect its usual condition.

Facilities

The lounge has toilet and shower facilities.

Atmosphere

Very quiet…but we were less than a dozen passengers.

Bottom line

A pleasant lounge despite the somewhat disappointing quality of the catering. To be reviewed under normal conditions.
