Norrsken lounge at Stockholm Arlanda: crappy!

My journey is coming to an end and I have a good two hours to kill in Stockholm. On my previous visit I had given up trying the Norrsken lounge because of the impressive queue at the entrance. This time there were a few less people so I took a chance.

Location of the lounge

It is located next to the SAS lounge in the middle of Terminal 5 on the first floor, so it is almost equidistant from all doors. In any case, given the size of Arlanda, it’s not much of a problem.

Access to the lounge

The lounge is open to Priority Pass cardholders and anyone else for around €30 per person, which is why it is often very full and the queue is long and slow.

Lounge layout

The lounge is in pure Scandinavian style without having the charm of the neighbouring SAS lounge.

A large room where the buffet is located.

It has no personality and looks more like a station hall.

A slightly more welcoming area.

And another small area on the other side.

It is difficult to take good photos because there are so many people and very little privacy.

I was not impressed by the cleanliness of the place either.

Catering

The catering offer does not raise the standard of the place.

The cold offer is really disappointing.

There are yoghurts and cereals.

IMG_1767

A very basic range of drinks.

And that’s it, poor, unappetising and, on top of that, a rather unattractive presentation, as if no one was in charge of the buffet.

Facilities

There are toilets (one for men and one for women) and no shower.

Lounge atmosphere

Overcrowded, noisy, and even badly attended.

Bottom line

A really crappy lounge to avoid.
