American Airlines Flagship Lounge, Miami International: Still Very Pleasant

For my long and productive layover in Miami, I settled into the airline’s Flagship Lounge, located in the middle of this hub.

Connections

As mentioned in the previous report, I used Global Entry and was landside in under 30 seconds, with no wait at all.

I was then able to use the TSA PreCheck checkpoint to head back airside, and after about a ten-minute walk, I found myself in front of the lounge.

Location and Welcome

The Flagship Lounge is co-located with one of American’s Admirals Clubs, near gate D40. The welcome was very cold and, after my eligibility was verified, I was handed an invitation to the Flagship Lounge and took the elevator leading up to it. The invitation was collected by a hostess and I was admitted into the lounge.

Design

The design of the lounge has not changed since my last visit: there are numerous lounging areas, a dining area, and a workspace.

The color palette is consistent with the airline’s more modern lounges.

Food & Beverage Offering

The food offering is very comprehensive and high-quality in this lounge, with a buffet and a station where made-to-order dishes can be prepared. I sampled a selection of breakfast and lunch items during my visit.

Soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are available on a self-service basis and are of good quality. I enjoyed a few glasses of champagne during my stay.

A very pleasant stay, even for a long wait such as mine.
