First flight of this itinerary, with this segment to Dallas from my home base of Boston.
Boarding
I arrived at the gate a few moments before the scheduled boarding time, and boarding began right on time with ConciergeKey passengers first, followed by Group 1, of which I was a part. The welcome at the gate is polite.
Cabin and welcome
The welcome on board was warm as I stepped into the Domestic First cabin of this Boeing 737-800, configured 2-2 with comfortable recliner seats.
I was the first passenger on board and quickly settled into my seat, 3A.
Boarding proceeded smoothly and was completed 15 minutes ahead of schedule.
A tray of water cups and orange juice was offered, and I chose an orange juice, which I sipped throughout the flight.
Service and catering
Before the seatbelt sign was turned off, the lead flight attendant came through the cabin to take or confirm meal orders. My omelet was confirmed, and I ordered a Baileys coffee along with a sparkling water with lime.
Hot oshibori towels were then distributed, followed by the drink service.
Fifteen minutes later, my tray arrived, and the omelet was excellent, just like the one I had the previous week. The fruit lacked ripeness, however, and the cinnamon roll was a little dry.
Arrival and disembarkation
We reached the gate around fifteen minutes ahead of schedule, though quite far from my connecting gate.
Bottom line
A decent flight, but service delivered without much passion.
