After a good two hours’ work in the lounge, I headed for the boarding gate of my flight to Miami, but still without an assigned seat.
As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:
Boarding
I arrived at the gate about ten minutes before my flight to Miami was due to board. Upon arrival at the gate, I inquired about my seat, which was immediately assigned to me, 01F.
Boarding of the flight began perfectly on time, and I was among the first on board after the handicapped PAX had boarded.
Cabin and welcome
The welcome was rather cold and I entered the First cabin of this Boeing 737-800 configured as a 2-2.
It’s modern and very comfortable.
Boarding took some time, and the captain announced an extended flight time requiring additional fuel. Our flight was delayed by 20 minutes on departure and 40 minutes on arrival.
Service and catering
Service began about fifteen minutes after take-off from Boston.
First, hot oshibori were distributed.
A few moments later, my drink and food orders were placed. I had a Coffee-Baileys and ordered salmon.
The latter was excellent, and my tray was quickly cleared. I spent the rest of the flight working.
The purser came and took more drink orders, and I had a black coffee.
Arrival and disembarkation
We arrived at the gate thirty minutes behind schedule. No panic, my connection to Orlando was also delayed by 30 minutes and I had even time to stop by the lounge.
Bottom line
A very good flight, even if the service could have been smily.
