After a short fifteen-minute stop in the lounge, I head to the gate for my second and final flight of the day to Atlanta, departing from Concourse A.
Boarding
I arrive at the gate a few minutes before the scheduled boarding time, but a line of passengers is already waiting in the priority lane, including one ConciergeKey member accompanied by a dedicated agent.
Boarding begins on time with First Class passengers, of which I am one.
Cabin and welcome
The cabin of this A319 has remained very much in its former US Airways condition, as these aircraft used to feature a very small First Class cabin, though it is still equipped with IFE screens, something that is becoming increasingly rare on American Airlines domestic flights.
The welcome is pleasant, and a pre-departure drink is offered. I stick with Jack Daniel’s, while the premium mixed nuts are already waiting at my seat.
Service and catering
Service begins as soon as the seatbelt sign is switched off, and I continue with Jack Daniel’s, which is brought promptly, this time in a proper glass.
Arrival and disembarkation
We arrive at the gate around ten minutes early, and I am quickly on my way to the shuttle that will take me to my hotel, where I will be staying for this first night near the airport.
Bottom line
A short but solid flight.
