This was the second and final leg of my outbound journey to Detroit from Boston, with a short flight between Charlotte and Detroit.
Boarding
I arrived at the gate 5 minutes before the scheduled boarding time. Boarding started on time with strict adherence to priority groups.
Cabin and welcome
On this Boeing 737-800, the Domestic First cabin is configured with 4 rows of comfortable recliner seats in a 2-2 layout, as is typical on American Airlines.
The gate staff were welcoming, and I quickly settled into my seat, 02F.
A tray of pre-departure drinks was offered, and I opted for an orange juice.
We pushed back from the gate a few minutes ahead of schedule.
Service and catering
Service began about fifteen minutes after takeoff. The flight attendant serving First Class took orders by addressing passengers by name—very professional.
I ordered a whiskey on the rocks, which was promptly served.
Arrival and disembarkation
We arrived at the gate 20 minutes early, and I quickly headed toward the car rental agency.
Bottom line
An uneventful flight with a helpful and friendly flight attendant.
