After disembarking from our flight from Boston and clearing the priority security checkpoint, we arrived in the airport’s iconic Doha Hamad transit area.
Location
The Al Safwa Lounge is located in Qatar Airways’ main lounge area.
Our eligibility was checked at the foot of the escalators, and we were then invited to enter the lounge.
Design
The lounge design is magnificent, and the sense of space is truly grand.
There are, of course, numerous lounging areas available, as well as various dining spaces spread throughout the lounge, each with different small themed buffets and always with an abundance of staff.
The very refined décor is simply perfect and soothing.
A large bar with premium beverages is also available.
There are also many themed rooms designed for families with children.
Food & Beverage Offering
For a bite to eat (as if we really needed it…), we settled at one of the buffets located a little away from the main areas.
I had a glass of vintage rosé champagne (from a small producer, surprisingly) along with a beautifully presented sushi platter.
Bottom line
An excellent stay in this lounge — we only wish we had been able to spend more time there!
