After two hours in the lounge, I decide to go to the gate to board my flight to Bangalore.

As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:

Today’s itinerary

Boarding

The flight is boarded at the new boarding pier C, which is also capable of handling special security flights, as it is equipped with additional security checkpoints.

As at Singapore airport, these are gates with dedicated security and boarding area, with pre-boarding upon entering the gateway.

I try to spot the priority lanes, and an agent tells me to move directly to the podium, which I do.

Once my boarding pass is scanned, I go to the priority waiting area, well marked, with seats dedicated to Business passengers. Before any type of priority boarding, the Business passengers boarding is done, and I move to the dedicated line to board.

Cabin and welcome

Excellent surprise, since it is the new cabin positioned in the 787 of the Qatari airline.

IMG_4781

It is therefore a suite, actually a Super Diamondseat with door. This seat is equivalent to the one used in the British AirwaysClub Suiteon all its long-haul aircraft.

I was greeted at the gate by the main purser, then escorted to my seat by one of the flight attendants serving inBusiness class.

I am asked my choice of drink: I would ask for a glass of rosé champagne, and I am also asked to choose between a hot or cold oshibori, and I will choose the cold.

We take off on time for Bangalore.

Service and catering

As always on Qatar Airways, the menu and the wine and beverage list is placed on my seat before I even sit down.

The orders are taken just before takeoff.

Quickly after takeoff, my aperitif is served, with a ramekin of nuts (but not hot this time). The rosé champagne served is different from that of the first flight and I don’t mind.

The table is then set. The setting is more conventional than on the first flight, because once the tablecloth is laid out, it’s a tray that faces me and not a First class type setting.

I first had a soup, excellent and served at the right temperature, accompanied by a Chablis.

IMG_4805

As an appetizer, I would choose the shrimp, not very interesting and I don’t like the mixture with the fruit.

IMG_4806

For the main course, I would choose the curried shrimp, served spicy as it should be and excellently cooked.

IMG_4808

The crème brûlée chosen for dessert will be excellent and will close this meal under the best auspices.

IMG_4809

I will then take a quick nap.

As always, a box of chocolates will be distributed before landing.

Arrival and disembarkation

We arrive on time at the airport in Bangalore.

IMG_4812

The immigration formalities will be rather quick after validation of my e-Visa, and I will be landside in less than 10 minutes.

Bottom line

Another great flight on Qatar Airways, but the product differences are noticeable with the previous Qsuite flight.
