Early return to Boston after a pleasant 3-night stay in Charlotte.
As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:
Check-in and ground experience
I checked in for my flight to Boston about 24 hours before departure. A Passbook boarding pass was offered to me.
On the day of departure, I left the hotel about 2 hours before the flight’s departure by Uber.
I arrived in front of the single terminal, currently under construction, and headed for the American priority check-in to collect my paper boarding pass. This took just a few seconds, and the check-in agent advised me to use security checkpoint A, on the other side of the terminal, which was less busy. There is no priority queue apart from the TSA Pre queue.
I waited about 30 minutes at the security checkpoint.
Location and welcome
The lounge is located almost at the beginning of concourse B of the airport and is marked by an American Airlines logo visible from afar.
The welcome was extremely charming and I was invited into the lounge.
Lounge design
This Admirals Club has clearly been renovated and was very pleasant. Despite its small size, it was not overcrowded on this Thursday morning, and I settled into a comfortable club chair.
There was plenty of space to work, rest or dine, in the Camel, Grey and Red tones of the renovated Admirals Club.
Catering
The food and beverage offer was quite high quality for an American lounge. In addition to the coffees and soft drinks available all day long, the breakfast offer with bagels, pastries and scrambled eggs/potatoes was available and appealing. I toasted a bagel and swallowed a yoghurt.
Bottom line
A very good (short) stay at the lounge, which I hope I’ll have the pleasure of visiting again.
