After a very disappointing stay and not being able to benefit from alate check-out after 1pm, I decided to go to the airport a few hours early.
The traffic is quite light on this Sunday noonand I will be at the international airport of Rio in less than forty minutes.
As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:
Check-in and ground experience
For this return trip, I would also have preferred to leave from Santos Dumont airport, where I landed, but there was no availability at a reasonable fare. So, let’s go to the international airport which, fortunately, also has some domestic flights (but much less).
LATAM checks in at the back of the terminal, near the international departures. Being in advance, I proceed to the check-in of my luggage for Sao Paulo. The latter will be labeled priority and my boarding pass given, and I will proceed to the domestic security check. The latter is absolutely deserted and the absence of fast track is therefore not a problem.
Location and access
The lounge is located on thelower level, at the bottom of the escalators that lead to the boarding lounge.
Just go to the right just after theDuty Free.
Plaza Premium lounges are no longer part of thePriority Pass network. Nevertheless, the network is still part of theAmerican Express Global Lounge Collection. After a scan of my pass, I am admitted to the lounge.
Lounge design
The lounge is beautifully designed in the style of the Plaza Premium lounges. Many different spaces are available for resting, working or eating.
Catering offer
The offer is quite comprehensive: hot, cold and sweet. It is served from a well-stocked buffet.
Drinks are served at the bar, soft drinks and spirits are available. The red wine is self-service.
Bottom line
A great stay in the lounge. During almost 2 hours, I was the only passenger. Hoping that the traffic will resume a bit…
