Between the two flights I wanted to test, I will stay at the Renaissance Paris Vendome, one of my favorite Marriott hotels in Paris.
As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:
Booking
I will proceed to the reservation of this property about 10 days before my arrival. Usually expensive, the price was relatively reasonable for that night (under 400€) and the location was perfect.
Two days before my arrival, I will see an upgrade to the Prestige category and then to the highest suite of the property.
I will proceed, 48 hours before my arrival, to the online check-in formalities, and will ask for my late check-out which will be accepted.
Arrival
Freshly arrived from New-York by the Norse flight in Premium Economy, I will use the Roissybus of the RATP and will be in the center of Paris after almost 1h30 of travel.
I will walk about ten minutes to arrive in front of the hotel, located on rue du Mont Thabor.
I then proceed to the check-in formalities with a receptionist. I switch to English because she doesn’t speak French.
In a very professional way, she confirms my reservation for one night, and my late check-out for the next day at 4pm.
She also indicates me an upgrade to the Cosy Suite, the highest category of the hotel.
I choose the points as a welcome gift, since breakfast is already included in my rate.
During the formalities, I will sip some champagne.
Once the receptionist has taken the credit card guarantee, she will escort me to the elevator leading to the rooms.
Suite
My suite was located on the 5th floor of the hotel.
The entrance leads, on the left, to a first fully equipped bathroom and then to a pleasant living room, which has a small desk on the left, a sofa and an armchair, as well as a large closet.
A television set faces the sofa. All of this opens onto a balcony.
The second part of the suite is the room itself, with a queen size bed, a small coffee table and two armchairs. A welcome amenity was also provided.
This space also has a balcony, equipped this time with a small metal table and two chairs.
Another complete bathroom is also available.

Hotel facilities
The hotel is equipped with a gym and a swimming pool with spa and hamman, all located in the basement of the property.
Gym
The gym is rather small. I will not use it during my stay this time.
Spa and pool
Although quite small, the pool is very nice to use. I didn’t take a picture, but the ones on the official website capture the atmosphere well.
The sauna and steam room are now back in self-service, unlike my last visit.
Catering
The hotel’s restaurant is now closed for lunch and dinner. However, it remains open for breakfast and a rather simplified room service menu is offered.
I will take my breakfast mid-morning. The elements are of great quality, in particular the cheeses which will be excellent in the maturation as in their temperature.
Service
The service in the hotel is excellent: the receptionists are very professional, the concierges also and the staff polite and smiling. Very good point.
Departure
The departure formalities will be simple and fast, and I will receive my bill via e-mail a few seconds after my departure from the hotel.
Bottom line
An excellent stay that confirms the property in the top 3 of my favorite hotels in Paris.
