For thefirst stage of my trip, I stayed at the Moxy Brussels Center, a hotel located in the Belgian capital. A look back on this very good stay.
As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:
Booking
I booked this property several weeks before my arrival. I wanted to try this hotel, having already tested most of the Marriott hotels in the city.
For a little more than 80 €, here I am with this reservation for one night.
Arrival
Several weeks before my arrival, almost immediately after booking, I see an upgrade to the second highest category of the hotel, the Moxyfied Sleeperrooms, which have a balcony and are located on the top floor of the property.
Its size remains moderate, and only the balcony changes compared to a standard room. But Iappreciate having an outdoor space even though in January it may be useless.
But the day before my arrival, when I was checking in online, I noticed an upgrade to the highest categoryof the hotel, the family room, which is more than 30 square meters. Perfect!
I arrive at the hotel from the Brussels-Midi station, after an uneventful trip by Eurostar. The reception is extremely courteous, all the formalities have been done beforehand thanks to the mobile check-in, and I am in my room in less than 15 seconds. Perfect!
Room
My room was located on the 3rd floor of the property.
The latter isreally spacious, with the king size bed facing the entrance. To the right, a large sofa and coffee table complete the room’s furnishings, along with a mock desk that folds out from the wall. A large television set faces the bed.
To the right is the bathroom, also spacious, but, and I hate this, it is “accessible”. This is not necessarily very elegant when you do not need this accessibility. The shower is nevertheless rather large, and does not spray the entire bathroom when in use.
A welcome servicewas arranged for me, with a balloon, and a very personalized card. It’s always great to feel welcomed!
Finally, here is the video tour:
Hotel facilities
The hotel is equipped witha fitness room, located in the basement of the hotel.
I will use it in the morning before I leave, for a much needed cardio session. Its equipment is very correct, modern, and free weights are available with enough space to practice them.
Restaurants
The hotel has a bar and a restaurant with a rather Nordic cuisine, but I will not have the opportunity to use it.
I will instead use the space near the reception area, which also has a bar, for breakfast purposes.
Breakfast service
Breakfast is served from 6:30 am to 10:30 am in the lobby area. It is not included in my rate, and its price is 15 €.
For your information, Moxy hotels do not participate in the Platinum, Titanium and Ambassador benefits of the Marriott Bonvoy program which allows you to choose breakfast as a welcome gift.
The latter will be of good quality for a hotel of this category, with hot elements, cold elements of rather average quality, but good quality pastries.
The coffee will be of decent quality, although the one provided by the espresso machine in the rooms is much better. But for the price, it will remain very correct.
Departure
The departure formalities were simple, and carried out via the Marriott Bonvoy application. No need to get lost in mumbo jumbo, the bill will be sent to me by e-mail in the minutes following my departure.
Bottom line
An excellent experience that I will be happy to repeat during one of my next visitsto the Belgian capital.
