Continuation of my trip to Brussels, where I join the Sheraton Brussels Airport after a long day of travel.
Booking
I proceeded to book via the Marriott Bonvoy app with a non-flexible rate a few days before my arrival.
The difference with a flexible fare was very large and this trip was unlikely to be cancelled. I proceed to the reservation of a standard room for 126€ per night.
Arrival
A few days before my arrival, I check-in online via the Marriott Bonvoy app.
The day before I arrived, I noticed that my room had been upgraded to a Club room (which seemed to be similar in every way to a standard room).
When I arrived at the hotel, I had to wait a good ten minutes to check-in because of the rush… 10:30 pm, it’s definitely the rush hour in this airport hotel.
Nevertheless, I was quickly taken care of by the reception staff. The welcome is very warm, but being very loyal is obviously not recognized here (I am just “Elite” to the front desk staff).
However, the receptionist tells me that the lounge is closed for renovation on the 5th floor, and that a temporary lounge is available on the 1st floor of the hotel, with breakfast being served in the main restaurant during this closure.
I go to my room located on the Club floor.
Room
My Club room was no different from the standard rooms, except for the available bathrobe.
The entrance has parquet floors, a small closet, a courtesy tray and a refrigerator that serves as a minibar, but empty.
The bathroom, recently refreshed, is equipped with a bathtub (not my preference).
The rest of the room, equipped with carpeting, is quite large, with a large dresser/desk on the left to work in comfort, a very comfortable armchair to relax.
The king size bed is very comfortable, but the comforter is a bit small for my taste and my legs are sticking out…
In short, a comfortable but very basic room, and that you can discover here in video:
Hotel facilities
The hotel is equipped with a fitness room located on the 1st floor of the property. It is rather small in size to absorb all the hotel’s traffic.
I didn’t have time to use it but I was able to take some shots.
Club Lounge
As mentioned at the beginning of this report, the Club Lounge was closed for renovation during my stay.
I visited the temporary lounge, but without being able to take pictures, not having been able to turn on the light…
Departure
The formalities were simple, I used the mobile check-out and received the bill in the morning.
Bottom line
A good airport hotel, but one that will need to be renovated soon, and whose recognition of the loyalty program deserves to be reinforced.
