On a business trip to the Belgian capital,we dined at Bocconi, recognized as one of the best Italian restaurants in the city.
As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:
The concept
The concept is simple: it is a gastronomic Italian restaurant, which magnifies the Italian regions.
The setting
The establishment is very posh, located in the Hotel Amigo, member of the Rocco Forte network.
The menu
The menu is quite simple and has starters, pastas, main courses and desserts.
A 3 or 4 course set menu is possible and this is what we will choose.
The meal and the dishes
Here are the dishes we have chosen from the menu:
- Appetizer : cheese, little interest
- Pappa al pomodoro: excellent, balanced. Lack of salt perhaps
- Ravioli Cacio & Pepe & gamberi: a delight, we would eat 3 times more
- Turbot: Lack of accompaniment and slightly overcooked
- White chocolate fondant: Surprisingly balanced despite the very sweet side of white chocolate
Culinarily very good then.
The service
The service was just perfect from start to finish. The dishes came in quick succession.
The atmosphere
Very quiet and calm. Perfect for a business lunch or dinner
Bottom line
An excellent experience for this restaurant with a reputation that is not usurped.
