United Domestic First, Newark International – Washington Reagan, Bombardier CRJ550: No Service!

After a short stay at the United Club, I left a few minutes before the scheduled boarding time to head to my gate.

Boarding

Boarding began right on time with a lengthy pre-boarding process, followed by Group 1 passengers, which included me. Everything went smoothly, and I was able to step onto the clear jet bridge.

Cabin and welcome

The welcome was polite, and I entered the Domestic First cabin, configured in a 1-2 layout with four rows. This is a very premium-heavy setup, with 25% of the seats in First Class.

There was no pre-departure drink service during boarding, which finished in under 15 minutes (as expected with only 40 passengers).

We pushed back right on time.

Service and catering

Service began after the seatbelt sign was turned off, with orders being taken… and that was it. I was never served the Bailey’s coffee I ordered, as the flight attendant, who was in training, was too slow… Unacceptable!

Arrival and disembarkation

We arrived in Washington about 15 minutes ahead of schedule, and disembarkation was easy.

Bottom line

A quick flight, but absolutely no service—shameful!
