Brasserie Liberté, Washington DC: Good, But Worth a Second Visit

On my second day in the U.S. capital, I stopped for a quick lunch at this Georgetown brasserie.

The concept

The concept is quite simple—a traditional brasserie with classic French dishes.

The setting

The setting is very well done, with a nicely decorated room and quintessential Parisian bistro chairs.

The menu

The menu offers a good selection for lunch, with a mix of sandwiches and full plates. It looks enticing, and I’m especially interested in returning for a more substantial dinner.

The meal and the dishes

I started with an Old Fashioned, which was excellent

For the main course, I had a croque-monsieur that was good but huge, with ham of average quality.

(Apologies for the photo of the partially eaten dish)

The service

The service was attentive and quick.

The atmosphere

The atmosphere was pleasant, though the music was a bit too loud for my taste (thank goodness for AirPods Pro).

Bottom line

A nice experience overall, but the menu deserves another visit to explore more thoroughly over dinner.
