After 15 minutes in the lounge, it’s time to board my long flight to Seattle.
Boarding
I arrived at the gate after groups 1 to 3 have already boarded. I used the priority line and board immediately.
Cabin and welcome
The Domestic First cabin is in a 2-2 configuration with comfortable recliners, as usual on American airlines’ single-aisle aircraft, with 5 rows.
The welcome is non-chalant, with the steward’s hands in his pockets.
Despite the length of the flight, there was no pre-departure welcome drink.
We departed on time from the gate for a 5-hour flight to Seattle.
Service and catering
Just after the seatbelt sign went off, my order was taken, first for drinks and then with confirmation of the pre-ordered meal.
My drink was brought to me: a Jack Daniels on the rocks with a second bottle. Then hot nuts were brought out… But 20 minutes separated each gesture of service, which was a little unpleasant.
The tray was then served: the chicken was acceptable, but everything else was bad. Fortunately, I was not very hungry!
Refills were offered, but 2 hours into flight, the crew disappeared into the galley.
Arrival and disembarkation
We landed in Seattle on time, but due to heavy showers on the ground, we had to wait a long time for our gate to clear, and eventually were delayed by 30 minutes when we arrived at the gate.
Bottom line
A disappointing flight, very disappointing. You can have the best hard product, but when the service is faulty, that’s what stays in your memory!
