Here we go for the final leg of this business trip to Washington, DC, with a MAX 8.
Boarding
I left the lounge at the scheduled boarding time, taking no risks as I knew the inbound flight had just landed. It would be at least 25 minutes before boarding started due to passenger deplaning and cabin cleaning.
Boarding began 30 minutes late, and the departure time was adjusted to a 15-minute delay.
Pre-boarding started, followed by Group 1 (my group), with access through automated gates.
Cabin and welcome
The welcome was friendly and warm as I entered the 737 MAX 8 cabin.
The Domestic First cabin has 4 rows of recliner seats in a 2-2 configuration. The seats were comfortable and equipped with power outlets.
No welcome beverages were offered during boarding.
Service and catering
This flight had no service! For no apparent reason, there was no service offered by the cabin crew. Only a tray of (not cold) water was passed around. Shameful!
Arrival and disembarkation
We arrived at the gate 15 minutes behind schedule, which wasn’t too bad.
Bottom line
A very disappointing flight with non-existent service.
