So here is the final leg of this itinerary back to Boston, with this overnight flight to Boston.
Boarding
As I disembarked from my flight from Seattle, I had to join another concourse at Phoenix airport and arrived at the gate of the flight to Boston just as boarding was about to begin.
On the way, I came across long queues at the American Airlines counters, synonymous with long delays.
Boarding began with ConciergeKey passengers, then continued with Group 1 passengers, including myself.
I was not among the first to board, however, given my late arrival at the gate.
Cabin and welcome
The cabin was the traditional AA Domestic First, with 6 rows of 2-2 recliners.
The welcome was very professional, and the stewardess in charge of the cabin came to take an order for welcome drinks.
I had a glass of champagne while boarding ended.
Service and catering
The cabin remained in darkness to maximize rest. The night flight was scheduled for a little over 5h, but the flight was very short in the end, arriving just under an hour early.
I watched a series while sipping a whisky before trying to rest for a couple of hours.
Arrival and disembarkation
We arrived at the gate just under 50 minutes ahead of schedule.
Boston public transport doesn’t start until 5:30, so I had to take an Uber to reach my home, which I did in about ten minutes.
Bottom line
An uneventful flight, but red eyes are really difficult.
