After a short night in Paris, Bertrand and I decided to spend a day in Nancy. In addition to a family visit, the native of the Lorraine capital wanted to introduce me to and share the beauty of this bourgeois town.
Location
The Grand Voyageur lounge is located to the left in Gare de l’Est. It’s well signposted and accessible by ringing the bell. The welcome was courteous and I was admitted to the lounge without difficulty, and without presenting my physical Grand Voyageur card.
Lounge design
The design of the lounge is very nice. It has relaxation and work areas, and surprisingly high quality Vitra furniture.
On the other hand, its size is very, very small. It was almost full when I visited on a Saturday morning… which doesn’t bode well for weekday visits.
Catering
The catering offer is almost non-existent. Only a Selecta machine and a water fountain are available at the entrance.
Bottom line
Very good for a quick stay, but a small basket of pastries would be welcome in the morning.
