Párisi Bistro, Budapest: an excellent discovery

While we were having a walk downdown Budapest, we spotted in front of our hotel a beautiful building, the Párisi hotel, renovated a few years agp. We stopped for a coffee, and took the opportunity to make a reservation for the following day. And so this is our lunch experience.

As a reminder, here is the itinerary followed:

Today’s itinerary

The concept

The restaurant has no particular concept; it combines the tradition of Hungarian cuisine with the modernity you’d expect from a place like this.

The setting

The setting is absolutely magnificent: the lobby of the Hotel Párisi, a renovation that transformed a city shopping arcade into a hotel lobby, with the rest of the building housing the hotel’s rooms.

The menu

The menu is quite simple, a bistro menu with a gastronomic twist.

The meal and the dishes

As an amuse-bouche, fougasse was served with olive oil.

For the main course, I had a filet of perch, which was excellent.

The service

The service was attentive, worthy of a five-star outlet. And it is a 5-star outlet!

The atmosphere

The atmosphere was fairly calm, and the place was not very busy at lunchtime on weekdays.

Bottom line

An experience we’ll be repeating: these little nuggets are now legion in the Hungarian capital, which is overflowing with quality restaurants.
