The Le Saigonnais lounge in Saigon airport’s international terminal offers a very decent service, and in any case better than the other lounges I saw in Vietnam during my stay.
The vacations are over and it’s time to head back to Europe, which I’ll be doing with Turkish Airlines. As the Turkish airline does not have its own lounge in Saigon, it uses a contract lounge, the Le Saigonnais lounge.
Earlier in my stay, I had the opportunity to try out the Le Saigonnais lounge in the domestic terminal, which I found to be better than the Vietnam Airlines lounges. Will the international lounge confirm my impression?
You’ll find at the bottom of the page a summary of articles about this trip to Vietnam.
Location of the lounge
Once through security, the lounge is on the upper floor of this long terminal. Given the size of the terminal, you don’t have to worry too much about the distance to the boarding gate.
Access to the lounge
It is available to business class and elite passengers of ANA, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Cathay Pacific, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airwats, Asiana Airlines and Japan Airlines.
Unlike its domestic counterpart, it is not Priority Pass.
Lounge layout and design
The lounge is a single room made up of different areas separated by screen walls. While the furniture may be a little dated, the overall look is rather pretty, with its green color and mannequins in traditional Vietnamese garb.
As on the domestic side, I find this lounge quite pleasant.
By day, its large bay windows should make it very bright.
Catering
The buffet features hot and cold dishes, mainly local cuisine.
Not very fancy at first glance, but it’s nevertheless the best quality buffet I’ve had in a lounge during my stay in Vietnam. It’s nothing to get excited about, but enough to be satisfied with.
The range of drinks is also richer and more qualitative than elsewhere, with traditional softs, strong spirits and wine…
Not great either, but given what I’ve had over the last few weeks, I’ll be happy with it too.
All in all, a relatively decent offering in comparison with local standards.
Facilities
The lounge has toilets and showers.
Atmosphere
Quiet and restful.
Bottom line
A lounge that gets the job done, nicer than what I’ve seen in Vietnam so far and with a slightly better catering offer.
