American Airlines Domestic First, Boston Logan – Chicago O’Hare, Embraer 175: Solid, but lacking flair

It was now time to board the first flight of my itinerary to Minneapolis, namely a flight to Chicago O’Hare.

Boarding

Having left the lounge a little over ten minutes before boarding, I reached the gate a few minutes later and waited at the entrance to the priority lane.

The announcements were clear, and boarding began on time with ConciergeKey passengers, followed by Group 1, of which I was a part. The whole process was very courteous.

Cabin and welcome

I was the second passenger to enter the cabin of this E175 bound for Chicago. The welcome was not especially warm as I made my way into the 1-2 configured Domestic First cabin.

This time, I did not have a solo seat, but rather a window seat on the right-hand side.

Boarding continued calmly, and I ordered a sparkling water, which was promptly brought to me.

Service and catering

The service began before the seatbelt sign was switched off. The flight attendant took drink orders, and I opted for a vodka tonic, which was also served promptly.

A few minutes later, the snack basket made its appearance, and I helped myself to some peppered pistachios.

A refill was offered and gladly accepted.

Arrival and disembarkation

We arrived at Chicago O’Hare several minutes behind schedule due to an endless taxi. A pity, as we had landed well ahead of schedule.

Bottom line

A solid flight, with a professional crew but little in the way of flair. Routine, really.
