A surprise for this return to Boston, with a flight on Delta and, above all, in economy class!
Irregular Operations Handling by American Airlines
While I am in the Escape Lounge, I notice on the American Airlines app that the inbound flight from Chicago is delayed by a few dozen minutes. A minor delay in itself, but enough to make me miss my connection to Boston.
Fortunately, I had booked a one-way ticket on Delta as a backup, as an important event required me to be in Boston the following morning.
As a result, I wait at the American flight counter to have my check-in canceled, then proceed to check in online for the direct Delta flight.
Boarding
On Delta, with SkyPriority, boarding now takes place in… Zone 4. Quite astonishing, and one has to wonder what has become of priority boarding…
The process is nevertheless courteous, and after watching a good half of the passengers board, my turn finally comes.
That said, the whole process remains polite and friendly.
Cabin and welcome
I make my way into the Economy cabin, arranged in a 3-3 configuration on this A321.
The welcome was courteous without being warm.
In the end, the seat pitch is quite decent, and the comfort proves acceptable for the three-hour flight.
Service and catering
Service begins once the seatbelt sign is switched off.
It takes some time to reach my row, and I opt for a sparkling water along with a packet of Biscoff biscuits.
The trays are cleared promptly afterward.
Arrival and disembarkation
We arrive at the gate around twenty minutes ahead of schedule, and the walk to the rideshare pickup area is very long.
Bottom line
In the end, this was a flight that was not unpleasant at all.
