I stayed this time as close as possible to my client site, namely at the Marriott Minneapolis West, for two intense days of workshops.
Booking
I booked this property two weeks before my arrival. I reserved a suite directly through the Marriott Bonvoy app.
Arrival
I arrived at the hotel late in the evening, by which point the night clerk was already on duty. She had some difficulty handling the check-in formalities and locating my reservation.
After a few minutes, however, she checked the list of mobile check-ins and found me—miraculously.
I was then quickly on my way to my suite… well, “suite.”
Suite
My suite was located on the 7th and top floor of the hotel.
The entrance opened to the right onto the living area, featuring a sofa and an armchair, a coffee table, and a chest of drawers topped with a television. A desk was attached to this unit. On the right-hand side, there was also a wet bar with a coffee machine and a microwave.
On the coffee table, a welcome amenity consisting of cookies had been placed for me.
On the other side stood the king-size bed, moderately comfortable and flanked by two bedside tables. Beneath the window was the air-conditioning unit, which made an infernal amount of noise.
Finally, the bathroom was oddly renovated and of good quality.
In short, the décor was very dated everywhere except in the bathroom.
To conclude, here is the video tour:
Hotel Amenities
The hotel features a swimming pool and a fitness room, both located on the ground floor.
Pool
I did not use the pool, but it looked quite pleasant.
Fitness Center
I did, however, use the fitness room every morning during my stay. The equipment was somewhat old and the room had no natural light at all, but it was more than sufficient for my cardio sessions.
Food & Beverage
The property has a pub on the ground floor, but also a Club Lounge located on the same floor as my suite.
This space was fairly small, but I had my breakfast there—or at least a light bite. The offering was very basic.
Service
Service was minimal, even somewhat brusque in the restaurant.
Departure
Check-out was straightforward, as it was completed through the Marriott Bonvoy app.
Bottom line
A mediocre stay.
