Escape Lounge, Minneapolis–St. Paul: Very decent for a Priority Pass lounge

For my return itinerary, I was once again booked on American Airlines, this time via Chicago O’Hare. But since the airline does not offer a lounge there, I headed instead to the Escape Lounge.

Check-in and ground experience

I completed check-in through the American Airlines app and immediately retrieved both my Passbook and PDF boarding passes.

I left the client site where I had spent the previous two days a little over 2 hours and 30 minutes before my flight. Security at Terminal 1 was completely empty and I was through in no time thanks to CLEAR and TSA PreCheck.

Location and Welcome

The Escape Lounge is located just past TSA screening, on the mezzanine level at the very beginning of Concourse E. An elevator is available.

The welcome was pleasant, and I was admitted to the lounge after my American Express Platinum card was checked.

Design

The lounge design is quite successful, with both lounge seating and dining areas.

I settled at a high-top table while waiting for my flight to board.

Food & Beverage Offering

For a Priority Pass lounge, the food offering is perfectly respectable, with both hot and cold options, as well as a bar that is better stocked than the average in U.S. lounges.

Bottom line

A pleasant and comfortable wait before an IRROP that would change everything.
