American Airlines Admirals Club, Boston Logan: still going strong

It’s off to the second part of our vacation, with a week of relaxation in Miami Beach with our newborn, to get some warmth after a very cold winter and spring in Boston.

Purchase and check-in

I bought my plane ticket several months before departure, on the American Airlines website, directly in First Domestic to be more comfortable with our baby.

The route between Boston and Miami is not the most economical, and I’d be hard-pressed to find acceptable dates and times at a relatively reasonable price (just over $600 per person). I’ll mention at the time of booking that my wife will have a baby on her lap.

A few days before departure, we choose our meals on the American Airlines application.

24 hours before departure, I receive a notification from the American Airlines app on my phone inviting me to proceed with check-in formalities, which I will do without difficulty. I retrieve our Passbook and PDF boarding passes from my computer.

Ground experience

We arrive at Logan airport very full, just under 3 hours before our flight’s scheduled time.

On the morning of departure, I had received notification of a forty-minute delay.

Our Sixt driver arrived early, and we quietly went downstairs to load our luggage and set off for the airport, which we reached in just 15 minutes.

After reorganizing our luggage, we wait about 15 minutes at priority check-in to drop off our 4 checked bags and pick up our paper boarding passes. I’ll get confirmation that I can check in the stroller at the gate, which I’m happy to do.

We then pass through the TSA checkpoint without a hitch in just a few minutes.

Location and welcome

The location of the lounge hasn’t changed: it’s still adjacent to gate B4 in terminal B.

The reception is excellent, the hostess being taken with our son (who wouldn’t be), and offers to put us up in a private room so we can change him and/or feed him.

We declined, and settled down by one of the bay windows.

Lounge design

The design of the living room is still the same, in shades of grey and camel. It’s still pleasant, although it’s getting a little tired.

Catering

The Admirals Club‘s improved catering offer is well in place, with several choices of hot dishes and a quality cold offer.

Bottom line

A pleasant and very, very long stay (I invite you to read the following report).
