Boarding
As I arrived at the gate, I found a rather messy situation with a “pile” of passengers without any real organization of the lines. The boarding time is reached, then exceeded, and no announcement is made.
Finally, 20 minutes before departure, priority boarding… for groups 1, 2 and 3 (more than half of the plane, on a Friday night…) is called. I make my way to board.
Cabin and welcome
The welcome is rather warm, and I settle down in seat 01A. I will have a neighbor on this flight who will be particularly frowning.
The cabin is the usual BA medium-haul cabin, with a neutralized middle seat and a table in Club Europe.
There will be no welcome drink.
Service and catering
The service starts just after take-off with a welcome from the purser and the distribution of the paper menus (yippee, they are back in medium-haul).
The service will remain very warm during the whole flight.
Then, the order of the aperitifs is taken. I will order a glass of champagne, which will be served with a spicy nut mix.
The trays are then distributed, I chose the chicken, served on a skewer, which will be excellent with its mashed potatoes and grilled corn.
The service will be continuous, the refills of champagne constant until the landing.
A great service!
Arrival and disembarkation
As often happens at Heathrow, our gate will not be ready and we will have to wait a few minutes before reaching it.
We arrive at concourse B, and after an automatic shuttle that I catch in extremis, I pass the immigration control in the blink of an eye and join my Wheely who is waiting for me to go home.
Bottom line
An excellent flight which will end in the best possible way in spite of a laborious boarding.
